Yoga Challenge
Please join us in the ADAC’s first ever Yoga Contest! Yoga shouldn’t be competitive, right? Well, we think a little friendly competition is fun and inspiring, so there! The winners will receive a free month’s membership (!!!) a free copy of Lara Falberg’s novel, Yoga Train, available on Amazon for Kindle (you don’t need a Kindle, just download the app for free!) and some ADAC swag.
Week of March 6th – Handstand Contest

Week of 13th – Breath Holding Contest
Here’s the 411 on breath work: we all breath too shallowly. It’s not right. Developing breath work obviously delivers oxygen to the body, and releases waste products and toxins. But almost more importantly, conscious aware breathing calms our central nervous systems, and allows us to be more present. And it’s free! You can have as much as you want, and make more!!
If you’d like to test your abilities to hold both an inhale, and fully release an exhale, join me at one of the dates/times below to see how you do! We’ll time you, and the person with the longest breath cycle wins!
March13th: 7:20-7:40a.m. March 14th: 11:40-11:55a.m. March 14th: 6-6:20p.m.*(by appointment)
March 15th: 7:20-7:40a.m.
Week of 20th – Crow Pose Contest
For those of you who’ve been working on Crow pose, well, you know it’s a tough pose. Real tough! But if you’ve managed it, come see how long you can hold it! I’ll be timing folks on the dates/times below.
March 20th: 7:20-7:40a.m. March 21st: 11:40-11:55a.m. March 21st: 6-6:20p.m.*(by appointment)
March 22nd: 7:20-7:40a.m.
Week of March 27th – Alignment Contest
Alignment is so important. A posture can look relative ‘correct’ but without proper alignment you both miss out on important sensation, and can risk holding the body in a way that might invite injury. There is no definitive ‘right’ way as everybody is different, but there are most certainly proper alignment principles. Warrior 2 and Triangle are classical yoga postures that offer so much if done with deep awareness. Bring your phone so I can snap a pic of you in one of these poses, and explain where you’re going right and where you can work a little more. The participant with the most proper alignment wins at yoga;-)
March 27th: 7:20a.m.-7:40a.m. March 28th: 11:40-11:55a.m. March 28th: 6-6:20p.m.*(by appointment)
March 29th: 7:20-7:40a.m.
Lara can be reached at lara@iworkbarefoot.com with any questions or to make an evening appointment to participate in the contest.
